Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Maverick County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a displayed search tool signifies agreement with all terms below. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the site.

NO FCRA USE. Maverick County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This resource points to criminal-record sources in Maverick County, Texas. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to a government office. We neither store official criminal records nor retrieve records, conduct official checks, or submit documents for a user.

The site identifies custodians for Maverick County records, including the sheriff and jail, the proper court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. It may also display tools run by outside providers.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Texas, or local law
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass a person using information found here
  • Use site content for a credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or restricted functions
  • Deploy a bot, scraper, or other automated collection tool against the pages
  • Interfere with performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use site content or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate civil or criminal law. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 governs registration and public registry data, while Texas Government Code Chapter 411 governs specified criminal-history dissemination. Neither authorizes vigilantism, trespass, threats, or harassment. Registry information is provided for public-safety awareness.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Our advertising partners do not turn this site into a service for regulated screening. You agree not to use information from this site or a linked tool to:

  • Set insurance eligibility or premiums
  • Make a credit or lending decision
  • Evaluate an applicant for employment
  • Assess a person for a tenancy or housing opportunity
  • Make any other decision governed by the FCRA

A person who needs a check for a legally regulated purpose must use the proper official channel or an FCRA-compliant consumer reporting agency.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Maverick County charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to particular facts. Seek advice from a licensed Texas attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are offered "as is." We make no promise that:

  • An outside search provider will return complete or accurate results
  • Every page is current, complete, and error free
  • Access will remain continuous or uninterrupted
  • The site will contain no bug, defect, or security weakness

Criminal records can change when charges are filed or dismissed and when expunction or nondisclosure relief takes effect. Gaps and delays are possible. No site statement is an official representation by a court, sheriff, clerk, or Texas agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, court resources, Texas agencies, legal-aid organizations, and commercial search providers. We do not control an external site's content, data practices, prices, or availability. Review its own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Maverick County Criminal History or the applicable content partner. You may not reproduce, alter, distribute, or create derivative work from that material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from site use, including reliance on content obtained here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against a claim, demand, or action caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms, and any dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in Texas. For clarity, the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, concerns records held by public bodies, while Government Code Chapter 411 governs access to and dissemination of specified criminal-history record information. Those statutes do not make this private site a Maverick County agency or an official DPS repository.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, restrict, or end access at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If any term is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
